CompuMedia Business Services

About Us

Background

CompuMedia Business Services was founded in 1986. Since then, the company has provided top-quality résumé, editorial, computer and media services to a wide variety of clients in the Washington, D.C., area, throughout the country and around the world.

Management

CompuMedia Business Services is managed by Ken Reigner. He has 45 years of experience in writing, editing, communications and job search consulting.

His background includes many years as a press secretary and legislative assistant in the United States Senate and U.S. House of Representatives; extensive governmental, political and campaign experience; and a background in environmental conservation and marketing.

Reigner served two terms as president of American Independent Writers (AIW), a Washington, D.C.-based professional association of more than 1,400 writers, editors and journalists, which was founded in 1975. Formerly known as Washington Independent Writers, AIW is the nation’s largest regional writers’ organization. Previously he was elected the organization’s vice president.

As president, Reigner led a reform movement to reinvigorate AIW. He emphasized increased services as well as professional development, communications and social activities for AIW members, while promoting greater diversity among the membership.

When Reigner was first elected to the AIW board of directors in 1997, he was named chairman of the AIW Technology Committee. In that position, he organized annual technology conferences at Washington’s University Club.

He advised AIW on high-tech issues and chaired technology panels at AIW’s annual Spring Writers Conference at the National Press Club and George Washington University in D.C.

He also founded and managed three AIW Internet-based Listserv e-mail lists to distribute job bank postings to members and promote greater communication among writers, editors and journalists throughout the United States and around the world.

In 2000, he received the Philip M. Stern Award, AIW’s highest honor, “for his exceptional service in bringing [AIW] into the Electronic Age.” The award is named for the investigative journalist, author, early benefactor and founder of AIW.

Reigner’s professional memberships have also included Mensa, the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Washington.
